After attending the Vancouver boat show last year, we weren’t expecting much from Paris. You know, the old once over, half hour tops to look at everything interesting… Boy, were we surprised!
The facility was massive! It was like the size of Vancouver’s downtown core and it took us over 4 hours just to quickly skim over everything! And as per Parisian-usual, the convention center was heated to a comfortable 400 degrees Celsius. So hour after hour, building after building, and drenched in our own sweat, we managed to document the experience just for you!
There were 1,200 exhibitors, 1,400 brands, 600 motor boats, 500 sailing boats, and over 300 small crafts!!! And all indoors! There was indoor surfing and an indoor pool set up for sup boarding and little sailboats. And there was an entire building for hot tubs, pools, saunas, steam rooms, and gazebos with kitchens and hydraulic ceilings! Then there was a whole other section for boating gear – every possible gadget and gizmo you could think of. They had everything.
Check out the awesome pictures!!
Look at all the sailboats!
All of the displays for the boats were very well done!
And there were plenty of private lounges...
Filled with obviously important suited folk. You all look tip top! We didn't... ;)
This is the Lagoon owner's lounge. We sat down on the comfy couches and got served hot drinks from the bar! Isn't that dope?! Scott and Lana also had a gift waiting for us: embroidered Lagoon towels made from organic cotton! We love free shwag!
What are these? Boats for ants?! How can we be expected to live aboard if we can't even fit inside the doorway? It needs to be at least... THREE TIMES bigger than this!!!
Going inside all of the other sailboats reassured us that a Lagoon was exactly what we wanted! (No offence to every other boat)
Wow! Learning to surf at a boat show!
Last year we were going to get one of these... too cool.
I've got to get me one of these!!
Gangsta white Jeep! To go with your white boat.
Our future dinghy! By the way, our dinghy will be named The Rat. ...Sorry to disappoint all you rat haters out there.
I want the big one!! Can I have it? Pretty please?? :D :D
Now THAT is a jet ski.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
This Wave Boat is a jet ski powered lounger. Brilliant!
This was the hot tub, pool, and sauna area. They had a ton of sexy designs.
That's the biggest personal hot tub I've ever seen!
Oh no wait, THAT is the biggest personal hot tub I've ever seen.
Okay forget everything I just said! THIS is the biggest personal hot tub IN THE WORLD.
Fancy shmancy!
YOU!!! SO modern! Completely impractical, but who cares?? :P
Robert is totally embracing modern relaxation.
A fancy condo? No, believe it or not, that is a gazebo.
This is just what we needed to cool off.
Fold up marine bikes will be perfect for cruising around the gulf islands. I can't wait to get some. :)
We did some deck shopping while we were there and Fusion seems like a pretty cool option for Lagu's kick-ass stereo system.
Another great idea for the boat: folding lounger pad thingies!
I see these a lot on fancy power boats. They're gorgeous.
Speaking of power boats...
Well I was going to buy one, but the options here are just so limited. If only they had a few more boats to choose from...
Duuuude!!! It's a TANK-YACHT! That would be so cool to drive!!
Wow, is that the same designer as the Eiffel tower? "Warning, do not operate in winds over 0.0001 Knots."
Wicked fishing boat!
And last, but not least: This has got to be the sexiest power cat I've ever seen! Wouldn't be a bad fishing boat hey mom?

DOPESHIT!!!!!!!!!!!~
I dont think i could have endured the heat but its always interesting to see all the gadgets and crazy boats. Your humour and insight make me look forward to your next adventures.
Thanks!
Loved all the pictures it felt like i was there... Minus the heat and all the douche-bags.
Always count on Robert to make modernerism into a joke!
But seriously save me a room on Lagu!
I have attended Paris Boat Show almost every year since... 1990 (I was then 17).
Due to important budge restrictions for many boat buiders, the show is only half of what it was 4 or 5 years Ago. In 2010, Lagoon had 3 boats displayed... In 2008, Wauquiez had their entire range displayed !!! I race Formula 18 catamarans, and all manufacturers had their model displayed back in 2008. It is true that is an impressive exhibition. And it is true that it is crazy hot inside.
Regards.
Laurent

We were considering buying a small racing cat for a while, with dreams of us decked out in wet suits, flying through the waves, getting soaked. We may still get one eventually.
