Lagu's text-message monitoring system proved handy this morning at 4 AM. I received a text message that our anchor distance had increased to a new maximum of 163 feet and that the wind had picked up to 22 knots. I put on my warmest clothing and headed up to the flybridge to evaluate the situation.

Continue reading →It was pouring rain, cold, foggy, not very windy... naturally, we wanted to go sailing! We snuck away from the dock and went for a little motor through the freighters and barges. "Which one is the biggest?" Dane and I used AIS to identify the size of each boat in the bay including DONG A, boasting a beastly 1,000 ft.
